Vaikom Urban Co-operative Bank is an almost a century old financial institution established in the year of 1926 in the town of Vaikom which is well known for social reformation movements such as the Temple Entry movement. VUCB also finds its origins in these early efforts of social and financial inclusion. The Bank has since been in the forefront of such efforts in meeting the financial needs of the unbanked areas of Vaikom. Its extensive knowledge of and intimacy with the economic aspirations of the people has enabled it to grow to a Bank with a customer base of about thirty thousand now.
